Emma In The Kitchen *WATCHOUT*

Today I was thinking about how lovely it would be to have a bowl of mashed potatoes... but honestly they are a lot of work. BUT we have some instant mashed potatoes WHICH I HATE. Anyway but this brand isn't too bad! And I thought if I put some effort into it I could even make them delicious! And I believe I have succeeded! So here is my recipe for 2 servings!

Garlic and Cheese Mashed Potatoes

What we will need!
saucepan and spoon
milk
butter
instant mashed potatoes (brand of your choice but I used Idahoan Premium Mashed Potatoes)
minced garlic
dried minced onions
shredded cheddar cheese
salt and pepper!

Now start off my looking at the package. However much butter it says to do double it (I used 6 TBS) and start melting that. While that is melting add a small spoonful of minced garlic and a large spoonful of dried minced onions. After the butter is melted and onion and garlic are mixed in well look at the package again! If the package says "1/4 cup of water and 3/4 cup of milk" Just add one cup on milk! Milk makes it taste better!!! Now leave that until it starts boiling! Then turn off the burner add a handful of shredded cheddar cheese and your instant mashed potatoes! (I used 1/2 a cup) Now stir and add salt and pepper to your liking!

This took me about 5 minutes and is so good! Tell me if you tried it! Enjoy!!!

starry thoughts

My swollen red eyes have given away my sadness from just finishing the book The Fault in Our Stars. This is the best most horrible book I have EVER read! *yes this book actually has a good bit of language and a small bit of sex! I would not recommend reading this if you are under the age of 15! I would not have read it if I had known but I had to finish it!*


I do have to say I love this book. Being able to see into the life of a cancer patient, that hates all the sympathy and cliche remarks people make on cancer. And how heroes aren't always the ones who have saved many lives but just has an ordinary one, impacting the people around them on there short time on this earth. Ever since I heard the quote "My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations" I have loved it. (Even tho I did not know it was in this book!) So now I know where it comes from and will try to restrain from crying every time I hear it!

I must add that I love books like these to remind me how precious life is. In the last year after losing my Grandfather and some friends I have tried to appreciate my family more. I know it's a very sad thought (and I am being extremely sappy OHMYGOODNESS) but what if I left angry at my little sister than didn't see her again. If I died I know she would feel terrible the rest of her life, and if she died I would probably consider myself a failure as a big sister and never forgive myself as long as I lived.

While walking through Hobby Lobby today I saw a picture that said

"because when you stop and look around, this life is pretty amazing"

And it truly is. So many times I get down about what I don't have and never think about all the things I do! I am so selfish! God has blessed me with this extraordinary life and I need to use it to be an everyday, average, hero.

I'm pretty sure this is one of those times my thoughts are stars I can't fathom into constellations.

{I need to rant} Internet Pet Peeves AND AN ANNOUNCEMENT

Sooooo while cleaning my room at 12:28AM because I feel sick when I lie down (lovely acid problems *rolls eyes*) I started thinking of my long list of internet pet peeves and thought "why not share with the world?!" So here are my top internet pet peeves!
Abbreviated words OVERLOAD


I can't say I never type "LOL" "WRYD" or "BRB" but I'm talking about when people are like

"i went 2 the mal it waz awsom i luv time with u iz u buzy sunday" Like really please speak in English!


"I bet 99% of you won't repost this"

*me scrolling through instagram* "'I think Mattel should make a bald Barbie for cancer patience.... *awweeee that's so sweet*... I bet 99% of you won't repost." :I  Your so right! I hate being guilted into things. especially on the internet.


REPOST OR THIS DEAD PERSON WILL MURDER YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT

Okay sooooo I'm not one to brag but you have nooooo idea how many of these I have survived! Like I am practically invincible when it comes to these! But seriously! WHO BELIEVES THIS STUFF?!
1. I don't have it on my instagram where you can see where I live EVEN IF YOU FOLLOW ME.
2. I'm just gonna be honest I have never been threatened by a dead person...

Where I try these unbelievable pins and we see if they work! I am super excited!!! I have the first video filmed buuuutttt I need to download it to the computer and edit and post it etc etc! Struggles of a Teenage Girl

When I was younger I couldn't wait to be a teenager! I thought my life would be awesome, I would be cool, I would FEEL cool etc etc. buuuuttttttt the last 3 years have probably been the hardest! But it's coming around and I have found answers to some things I wish I had known at 13! So for any 13 yearolds please read caaauuusseee I wish I had someone to tell me this!

This is pretty self explanatory but when you start trying to fit it there seems to be less and less of God in your life.

Emma's Thoughts Devotional: Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People?

This is a question I've heard asked A LOT! I have asked myself this before too. I have come up with a theory! But these are MY OPINIONS! Take them or leave them I just thought I would share! Please no one take offense!

1. What is a "good person"?

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. {John 1:8}

If you ask me if I am a good person I would probably answer something like "yeah I mean I'm not horrible" but the truth is I am! I am a sinner that should not be worthy of heaven. Only by God's grace am I forgiven. So I don't know a "good person" I do know lots of wonderful people saved by God's grace.

I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing." {Psalms 16:2}


2. Are These Things Punishments or Faith Builders?

Yes, God does punish us but when you ask "Why do bad things happen to good people" you kind of imply they did nothing to deserve this but they are being punished. Not so! I know when my bestfriend was almost killed in a motorcycle accident that it was one of the biggest faith changers. Even though it hurt me more than words can express I got to see God move! Through the prayers in the waiting room, the milestones she reached, the comfort in my heart that only God (no earthly doctor) could provide. Even though these things hurt REALLY bad and they don't always end for the best these are often the things that shake us up and bring us back to Him.

For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.{James 1:3}

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.{James 1:12}

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. {1Peter 5:10}

I KNOW! IT'S CRAZY!

I AM ACTUALLY 15... I know I act like a 12 year old but no mean jokes! Okay? Okay.

My piano recital is in 10 days. MY piano recital is in 10 days. MY *starts breathing fast* PIANO RECITAL IS IN *starts hyperventilating* 10 DAAAYYYYSSSS *passes out from panic*

SCHOOL IS OUT IN 2 WEEKS AHHHHHH SO EXCITED

I'm going to be in 10th grade next year... OHMYGOODNESS YALL I CAN'T BE THAT OLD... how did I not fail school.....

I SAW MATTHEW WEST IN CONCERT I CAN'T EVEN EXPLAIN HOW AMAZING IT WAS (actually I didn't know who he was until after I heard him and I was like "Oh he's the one who writes all my favorite songs..." <seriously I DID NOT KNOW WHO WROTE MY FAVORITE SONGS *and he wrote most of them!*) Is it strange I have his signed poster over my bed?.... *ITS JUST BECAUSE IT WAS THE ONLY AVAILABLE NAIL IN MY ROOM I'M NOT THAT CREEPY! AND ACTUALLY IT'S MY SISTERS BED CAUSE I DON'T WANT IT TO FALL AND KILL ME WHEN I SLEEP.*

I want to spend all my time outside! If you know me well you know I'm not an outdoors person (and Mississippi weather isn't an easy place to be outside a lot!) But lately the weather has been GORGEOUS!

I am actually taking the time to blog! I know you are all shocked! Haha!
