Being

I found this on pinterest and was totally like yes! but the more I think about it the more I lack. One thing that I really struggle with is always being kind to my little sister. I really want to be a good example, but I have temper problems... when she asks something silly or talks too much or just annoys or is mean to me I am ready to yell at her! But how wrong is that! And I just think about how I don't want her to grow up and be like I am, quick to yell and get mad.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Mathew 5:9

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Proverbs 15:1

One thing I can think of is how I have been a Christian for four years, but if I am still yelling at my sister every time she does something that bugs me and how bad an example that is for her.

I should be,

My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,
James 1:19

Little siblings bothering older siblings is going to be around for FOREVER so we just have to deal with it the way Jesus would. Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.

God is the only way I can get better at this. I would appriciat your prayers and would love to pray for you if you are stuggling with this too!

  2. Very good post. I tend to get angered too easily, these are good verses to keep us grounded. :)

  3. Awesome, Emma! This is very true. I usually am able to keep my cool outside, but sometimes I can get really annoyed with someone inside me, even if I don't show it. Got to pay attention to that and nip it in the bud! :)
