Hum De Dum

Today we went to Church. After Church we had a big pot luck lunch in the Fellow Ship Hall and I got to see my friend Tori :) After that we went home and then to the Senior  Care Unite to see Sam Sam and Gram and pick up my little sis. Then while we were there we played a bunch of himns and had a really fun time! Now we are at my other Grandparrents house.

Now I have been thinking about writing a book just for fun. What do y'all think? Here is what it would be like...

"What time is it, Mama?" asked 11 year old Malissa.

"It is about 7:00" her Mom named Amy replied "We need to get breakfast started then we have a busy day ahead of us."

"What do we need to do today Mama?"

"We will talk about it at breakfast. Go ahead and do you Morning schedule while I go wake your brothers okay?"

"Yes Mam..." She answered drowsily.

Mom went to the kitchen to get a few things out before she woke up the boys. While she was setting things out 12 year old Daniel walked in the kitchen.

"Good Morning Mom" Daniel told her.

"Good morning Dan! I was just about to come wake you. Is Joseph up yet?" she asked.

"Yes mam. Dad came in and told us to go ahead and get up. Can I help you with breakfast?"

"I would love you to but have you finished your morning schedule?"

"Yes mam! I thought I would help so I made sure I got every thing done." He answered her.

"That was very thoughtful of you. Would you crack the eggs for breakfast? I am going to see what is keeping Malissa. She should be down by now. I will go check on her." Mom climbed the stair case to Malissa's room.

"Hi Mama. Sorry I was a little late. I was spending a little extra Bible time." She told her Mom as she walked in.

"That is okay. I just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong. When your finished you can set the table Dan is helping with breakfast."

"Yes mam! I will be down in about three minutes. I just have to brush my teeth." Then Malissa headed for the bathroom and Mom headed down stairs.

When Malissa reached the bathroom she realised the tooth past was out and she would have to get more. She went to the storage room and found a box of there tooth past. She was just about to leave when she noticed an awful smell in the corner of the room.

"What is that?" she thought. As she neared the corner of the room she realized there was a dead mouse, "AHH!" she screamed, "MOM there is a mouse back here!" Mom and Dan came hurrying to the storage room. When Mom saw the mouse she was a bit startled but stayed under constole. "Dan why don't you go see if Dad can dispose of the mouse. Malissa I think you better go finish your schedule so we can have breakfast. I think we are already late and your Dad has to leave for work. I will go check on breakfast."

Mom left for the kitchen and then stopped. "No!" she thought "not breakfast too!" She ran into the kitchen to find a mess. The eggs were a dark brown and the smell was awful! "Oh no!!! What am I going to do now? That was the last of the eggs! If only Malissa..." She realised that she should remaind calm. She said a quick prayer and quickly disposed of the eggs so that she could make something else. She buttered some bread and placed a slice of cheese on each of them and popped them in the oven.

The family came down for breakfast and the cheese toast was ready.

"Joe, would you get the cups and fill them with milk please? I will go get baby Katie and we will be ready for breakfast."

After Joe had gotten the milk and Mom had gotten Katie they all sat down at the table to eat breakfast. Dad said the blessing and then they started eating and planning the day.

"We have a surprise!" said Dad "I have gotten Friday off work and we are going to go on a field trip!" The Martin family home schooled and they loved when Mom and Dad took them on field trips.

They all put in there excitement and then then Dan realised something "Dad where are we going?"

"We are going to an Apple orchard. There has been such nice weather this fall so I thought that would be a nice place. Also we will pick apples and make some apple sauce to have here at home. Amy what are your plans for today?" He asked.

"Well we have a little extra school since we will be going on a field trip also Gram and Grampa wanted us to come over for super. You said we could and I am so glad you did. I don't think I have time to make supper. We need to go to the grocery store and that will take about 2 hours. Then we need to come home and make about 3 loafs of bread. We are going through about 3 loafs a week."

"Alright! Well we know what we need to do so I need to go to work. Have a good day!" He took is luch and left for work.

They finished there school quickly then headed for the store. It took a bit longer than Mom had expected but they had a fun time. Then they came home and made the bread. By that time is was time to go to Grama and Grampa's house.

  1. Emma, I think it would be a wonderful idea to write a book. I'm in the middle of two books. (one of them I got writer's block)

  2. You don't have to publish this comment Emma.

I was reading more info on etsy and saw that you have to have a credit card. Is it necessary?

I love how everything seems so home-y, like how mom is preparing breakfast, how the kids are waking up and doing their morning schedules....ah, It gives me such a comfortable, heartwarming feeling! And I read this story just before breakfast! Now, I shall make myself some french toast to celebrate this little feeling! ♡ Thank you for sharing this post Emma!

  4. Hey Emma!

Ooh, a book! I absolutely LOVE writing stories (I'm currently working on a long story/novel/book based on fan fiction)! I'm excited that you're starting to get into it as well. You should consider writing some children's books --they're cute, adorable, and not ridiculously complicated. I think you'd be good for it. :)

Also, as a side note, Rachel (from Teddy' Cause) has yet to respond to my emails concerning my prize. Do you know what's up?

  5. That would be great if you started a book!
I've written a fifteen page story before.
It was called "The Life of Two Puppies".
    I just finshed it. :)
    Your story sounds really interesting!
