Today we will be having a guest post by Miss Ireland!
Friends are a great blessing in life, they laugh with you when you are happy, they can cry with you as well. Friends are there when you need them wherever you are.
As much as friends are appreciated you must be careful with WHO your friends are and if they share your values, convictions and so on. For example if you believe in keeping yourself pure for your husband, wearing modest clothing and things like that, would you want your friends to be someone who would encourage you to stay strong to your convictions or who would make fun of you and weaken your resolve to stay true?
I am not saying that you shouldn't be friendly with anyone that doesn't believe the exact same way as you do, no, you should just be careful with how much time you spend with them and if their company builds you up or breaks you down. In fact I have a couple sweet christian friends who don't have the same view of dress as I do, but I still love the very much and hope I can be a good example to them by the way I dress.
The people you hang around with will have an effect on the way you live and believe, as my mom has said before, "you are who you spend time with".
I have been VERY blessed with really good friends in my life. I moved 2 years ago and met a-lot of sweet christian girls who have the same values as I do and I thank God for having me meet them! Before then I had some great friends who I am still in contact with though we rarely saw each other, so I now see these girls much more often and they help me become a stronger person (sometimes without even knowing it!)
I hope this has encouraged you to be wise in choosing who to spend time with. God bless!
Want to meet the girl who did the great post???
I am a 13 year old girl who lives in Texas. I love Jesus and want to shine my light for him. Some of my hobbies are blogging, photography, reading, playing piano, hanging out with my friends and family and so much more! I have 4 siblings whom I love and two awesome parents! I also enjoy writing and hope one day to maybe publish a book or short story. That's about all I can think of about me right now so goodbye!
You can read more of her great post at her blog A Pearl Of Great Price. If you ask her I am sure she will swap buttons with you!
Have a good day!
