Here is a really awesome guest post by Hannah! Enjoy!!!
Hi, I'm Hannah, guest posting for my first time today! I'm super excited to talk to y'all, and I hope that you enjoy my post.
Today I wanted to give some kind of blogging advice, but of course, since I only have 15 followers on my own blog, I wasn't quite sure what kind of good blogging advice I could give.
So today I'm going to talk to you guys about being the best blogger you can be.
Now you might find these rules and tips completely useless. You may have heard them one million times before. But I hope I teach someone something new about blogging that they have never heard before.
Whether you have 100+ followers, or are brand new to the blogging world and still have less then 20 followers (that's me), being a good blogger is always a challenge.
You don't know what to post about, you think your posts aren't goo enough, you compare yourself with other older bloggers who know more then you, etc.
I'm calling these tips; How to be the Best Blogger you can be (snazzy title, huh?)
*post often!
This one is a biggy for me. Back in the dark ages (when I didn't have a blog) I would check the blogs I loved like 3-1,000,000 times a day, just waiting for a new post.
Unfortunately, the blogs I liked only posted once every month. (I was pretty annoyed)
I try not to follow blogs that only post once a year.
But, of course, there is such a thing as over posting. That's when you post like 20-1,000,000 times a day. Over posting can get really annoying really fast.
So, keep your posting balanced. I'd say like 1 time a day. Or 3 times a week would be fine too.
Just keep your readers reading.
* be yourself!
I can not tell you how many times I have heard this tip! But it's true, we should all be 100% ourselves.
Seriously, if you're a modest, home school girl, will you be trying to make your blog appeal to girls with short shorts and tattoos?
Okay, I agree that that example was a little exaggerated, but still, why would you want your blog to be anything but yourself?
You're the one who puts the personality in your blog. Not someone else.
*giveaway!
I honestly haven't had a giveaway before on my blog, but I'm planning to possibly have one soon.
Giveaways are a great way to get new followers.
You're giving back to them, and followers just love it.
Blog party's are great too. But blog party's are more fun, because you learn more about your followers.
* get inspired!
For those days when you don't have anything at all to post about this really helps.
I literally go around searching for things to blog about.
Write about anything. You're sister's piano recital, your brother's new shirt. Anything.
Even if you really can't think of anything, just write, 'I can't think of anything to post about.' (I don't know if that's a good idea, but you can give it a shot.)
* design matters!
This is also really true. I mean, if you come up to a blog that was hideous, would you care about what they post about?
You could probably have the best writing in the whole blogging world, but without a good design, no one will care.
I was lucky enough to have Emma Margaret sprinkle some design magic on my blog. But for those of you who don't have a good design, I suggest you get one ASAP!
I'm sorry if I'm sounding mean, but a good design does matter.
You can find a good blog designer, or you can save a buck and figure it out yourself.
In the end, a good design will make you, and your followers happy.
Oh, wow, that was longer then I thought. I should write a book about all this stuff. Sorry for forcing you guys to read all of that.
I hope you all liked my post, and that you learned somethin' from all that.
